Jetty Park Kiteboarding

INFORMATION ON KITEBOARDING JETTY PARK

There is a large parking area. This spot offers a wide beach at low tide. It is a popular launch site for kiters and windsurfers. The park offers bathrooms and showers. This is a good spot on an ENE because the jetty blocks some of the chops and spreads the waves out! It is shallower than other areas because of the jetty. The beach can get fairly populated and has a lifeguard area.

The park offers 4.5 acre beach, 1,200 foot fishing pier, 150 campsites, pavilions and picnic tables, tackle shop and more. Giant cruise ships come in with the dolphins leading the way.

There are fees for day parking and camping at Jetty Park. For cars, day parking is $7.00. Camping fees range from $25 to $47, depending on the utilities included and the season. For campground or picnic pavilion reservations, call 321-783-7111.

PRECAUTIONS: This spot can get very crowded on weekends and holidays. Avoid kiting around crowds and find an alternate spot. DO NOT KITE IN THE LIFEGUARD ZONE.

WIND DIRECTIONS: Good from ENE, NE, E to SSE, SE, S winds.

Good Breeze Kiteboarding has been offering kiteboarding lessons and equipment in the Cocoa Beach area since 2007. The shallow flat water of the Banana River gives the area an incredible appeal for learning and catching any wind direction. They teach with water-craft support with IKO certified instructors.  The “surf town” vibe of Cocoa Beach is really laid back and friendly. Being central in Florida with close proximity to Orlando and Melbourne, makes the area a killer location for a kiteboarding shop and school. It is fully stocked so swing by!
